Microlending or Microfinance is a category of financial services targeting individuals and small businesses who lack access to conventional banking and related services.

We are pleased to have partnered with Rural Focus Africa (RUFA) and the Lepers Aid Committee in Ghana, West Africa to establish a micro-loan project to support the economic development and self-sufficiency of people living with leprosy at the Ankaful Leprosy Colony.

Last year (2020) we launched our pilot VSLA group project in Ankaful leprosy community. A total of 3 groups (comprised of 30-35 individuals each) were trained in the VSLA model and successfully completed the 1-year program in February 2021. Due to the success of the pilot the program was officially launched in 2021.

For nearly two years the group members have been able to save money, and take out small loans to support themselves and their economic endeavors.

In 2021 we launched a campaign to support the most vulnerable of this group who didn't have money to put into the loan program. From this endeavor, 17 entrepreneurs were able to launch their businesses too!

Your generous giving goes to support the training classes and management support given to these starter businesses.
